For a long time, I used to have plenty of excuses or "reasons" for not getting down to the work of creating. I don't have the time...I don't have the money...I don't have this piece of equipment or that...I don't have the space to create...the list goes on. I watched other artists practicing their craft on YouTube and would think about all the things I didn't have. But the reality is, I don't actually need all that stuff. I just need to stop the excuses and get to work. Just do what I can with what I have and see what comes of it.

So I started. I began making it a goal to try and create something daily. Even if it was awful and I didn't like it. Even if it was just some small thing. I've had a lot of frustration and victories in the process. I'm not where I'd like to be at, but I press on. I feel like I have so many things I'd like to make. New techniques and media I'd like to explore. On one hand, I feel like I should find one thing and master it. However, I'm unsure of what my "one thing" is, so I continue with this process of exploration.

For those of you interested in my artwork, you get to experience this process with me as I bring new items to shows based on whatever process I'm learning or techniques I'm experimenting with. Maybe someday I'll find my "one thing" but until then, I'll just get down to the work of creating.
